HEAD’S UP: We had so much fun in September talking show talk in 50 words or less that we are doing it again for Fall 2014 and for the forseeable future. Also expect our customary off-the runway catwalk alleyway walk-about chatter, banter and asides. Indeed though, Yours Truly, Neil Wolfson and whoever else joins our merry band will hold forth on what truly inspires or what is so painfully hideous that it is remarkable, but ever so briefly. WHAT woman can resist being a Shanghai lady circa 1930s when Zang Toi is her personal couturier? Perhaps, she had him shanghaied for that very purpose.
Smart lady. Her man turns her out in such showstoppers as a bright green floor-length mohair coat, diamond art deco necklace, black velvet gowns and green wig.
At Kaufmanfranco for Fall 2014, keywords for the evening and after-5 attire featuring a surfeit of cut-out work are sleek, sexy, chic and competent. And business-minded. A collection so cohesive that one can imagine clients saying, “I want that one in black, silver and pale blue.” … To be continued.
