Scrumptious Taste of France / Foundations Sound

BY NEIL WOLFSON

28 and 29 September 2013/NEW YORK – THE Taste of France Show
took over Bryant Park during the weekend, bringing French culture, cuisine, tourism and technology to bedazzled and bemused New Yorkers.

The extravaganza was much larger than last year’s inaugural, which took place on a pier in the Meatpacking District. This sophomore year saw a crowd numbering near 100,000 over two days. (See video at top).

Attendees happily sipped Champagne and feasted on succulent lamb shank, and Steak Provencal while can-can dancers evoked the spirit of the Folies Bergere in the VIP tent.

In the wider park, a rescue operation involved French bulldogs and Metropolitan Opera singers were among the performances on the main stage. Many satisfied souls soaked up the Gallic oh la la on an autumn weekend magnifique.
