IT was shady business last night as E! and Nylon magazine threw in to muddy the water with a New York Fashion Week opening party themed, "Fifty Shades of Fashion."
Of course, it is an obvious play on the title of the much anticipated film opening tomorrow, "Fifty Shades of Grey." Based on the best-selling trilogy by E.L. James, it follows the intense relationship between a literature student and young mogul. It is overtly erotic, depicting S&M and other sexual practices. "Fifty Shades of Grey" has its own shades of "9½ Weeks."
"Fifty Shades of Fashion" was a cool affair at the Dream Downtown's rooftop PH-D Rooftop Lounge. One of the highlights was a performance by Skylar Grey, who sang "I Know You" from the film's soundtrack. (See video above).
